As part of the infrastructure project to rebuild the Veddel Bridges in Hamburg-Veddel, the old Zollkanal and Harburger Chaussee bridge structures were replaced after more than 100 years of service to accommodate increasing traffic volumes. Main construction work began in December 2022, and three of the four lanes on the bridges remained open to traffic.
A powerful Sennebogen 6113 E telescopic crane was used for the demanding construction project, distinguished by its high climbing ability and continuously telescoping full-power boom. The crane was assembled on-site at the customer’s location, Holst GmbH & Co. KG, despite challenging space constraints and weather conditions. The 6113 is the largest telescopic crawler crane with a full-power boom on the market and the most powerful in the rental fleet of Gebr. Willing GmbH. Despite the limited space and the resulting demanding assembly conditions, the crane successfully completed its tasks. The rental solution was designed flexibly to meet the requirements of the 14-month construction period. Careful planning and collaboration with transport companies such as Colossus Logistics GmbH & Co. KG contributed to the smooth delivery and commissioning of the crane. The machine has performed its duties on the construction site as expected and without disruptions and is expected to remain involved in the project until 2024.
